🧠 Lecture: "What Can an Infant Brain Teach AI?"
🎤 Speaker: Professor Vlad Ayzenberg
Despite all their advances, today’s AI models still fail at tasks that are effortless for a toddler. They also demand massive amounts of training data and energy, raising serious environmental concerns.
Join us for a fascinating evening as Professor Vlad Ayzenberg explores how the brains of babies and young children can help reshape the future of artificial intelligence. Drawing on developmental neuroscience, he will show how insights from infant brain development can address core limitations of current AI systems, from their brittleness to their inefficiency.
Professor Ayzenberg will trace the historic role psychology and neuroscience have played in the AI revolution and explain how new models are beginning to edge toward more human-like intelligence—while still falling short in key ways. He’ll also discuss how “little brains” may hold the blueprint for overcoming these gaps.
Vlad Ayzenberg is a professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Temple University. His lab works to uncover the ingredients of human intelligence by building AI models and literally peeking into the infant brain.
