About this Event
Bethany Mission's ILLUMINATIONS Film & Video Series continues on Thursday, November 19, with "Turning the Art World Inside Out," directed by Jack Cocker (2013), 70 min.
An entertaining and informative entry from the BBC's "Imagine..." series, this art documentary follows host Alan Yentob on a global journey into the world of outsider art, meeting visionary creators alongside the obsessive collectors and enthusiasts who champion their work. Interviews include Rebecca Hoffberger, Frank Maresca, James Brett, Ralph Rugoff, artist George Widener, and several of the Artists of Gugging, among others.
Doors open at 5:30pm to explore the Keen Collection and a Special Exhibition of paintings by local artist Peter Sonenshein, who will speak briefly about his work at 6:30pm.
A lifelong Philadelphia-area resident, Peter Sonenshein began exploring art as a child and has pursued painting and drawing since 2012.
