Cohort II: The Elite 30's Civic Engagement and Poli-Sci 101[Political Science] (Please register for each day. Thanks in advance.)

Introduction:
Hey there! Join us for an in-person training course with The Elite 30 as we dive into a non-credit continuing education 6-week curriculum: Civic Engagement and Poli Sci 101. This will be an intentional and unforgettable learning experience. You can learn the basics of politics, how to get involved in your community, meet prominent leaders, use your voice and your vote to empower your family, community, and life. This training is perfect for anyone who has never been involved in their community and a voter wanting to learn more. This is also a great start if you're looking to make a difference and meet like-minded individuals. If you are pursuing a degree in urban planning, political science, public administration or seek to run for office, this training is for you. Don't miss out on this fun and informative gathering!

Absolutely nothing about the subject at hand. Come ready to learn and engage.
What to expect:
The Civic Engagement and Poli Sci 101 course will be a highly intensive learning opportunity. Reading, discussion, and debate will be part of the class along with listening to guest speakers. In addition, project and presentation is required to complete the last two weeks of the training.
The class meeting dates and times are:
* Thursdays, September 24,
*Thursdays, October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
Note #1: Other training dates will be announced December 2026
Note #2: Only two sessions can be missed. If that happens you must sign up for another six-week training session.
Note #3: Only those participants who attend four to six sessions will receive a certificate of completion.

• Roles and responsibilities of elected officials
• Local, State and Federal Government process
• History of Philadelphia
• The voting process
• and much, much more...
Incentive for Participation and Completion:
At the end of the training, if you plan to work or volunteer in this civic or poli sci field or [ a] related [related area of word or engagement], especially if you're 14 - 25 years old, we will provide a letter of recommendation for employment or volunteerism at the end of the training.
What do you need?
You will need the following to participate in this training:
1- a smart phone,
2- laptop,
3- tablet or iPad
4- a durable notebook,
5- a digital footprint (in good standing)and
6- a resume

We are seeking people interested in becoming more knowledgeable about their neighborhood and community from a civic engagement standpoint. We have a special interest in those folks who may not have a great amount of experience in this area, but who truly want to build and strengthen their knowledge and skills in civic engagement and political science learning for the betterment of self, family and community. Please bring someone with you.
Who will be training you:
Dr. Charlotte E. Brown is currently a District Office Director for a Pennsylvania State Legislator, Instructor, and curriculum course developer. She earned an associate's degree in pharmacology, a bachelor's degree in political science and government and a master's in the arts of teaching and special education. She is the CEO and Founder of the Elite 30 Association and Coalition (www.theelite30ac.com) and C&T Brown Consulting, LLC. She also has a professional background in policy analysis, legislative assisting, campaign management, political consulting, political advisor, management, organizing, civics and social media engagement (podcast and resources information),state government, teaching, tutoring, and is an author of Guidelines and Effective Community Outreach Strategies Workbook (November 2020).
