Artist Talk by Sculptor - Geoff Rankin

Geoff's first attempts at drawing were on his parents walls. He continued drawing, adding painting. In his teens Geoff was introduced to the theatre where set design and painting took his interest. In the 1960's Geoff attended the South Australian School of Art and the National Art School, Sydney. Sculpture has been his focus ever since. His works were included in the Mildura Sculpture Prize and the Transfield Sculpture Prize. Both prestigious exhibitions. Now in New Zealand Geoff now mainly works cold carved glass or obsidian (volcanic glass). Looking for pure form Some standalone other in groups, several with no formal base - All unique.
