About this Event
Clara Istlerová: A Life Among Letters (Inventory Press, 2025), is the first English-language publication dedicated to Czech graphic designer Clara Istlerová (b. 1944). Known for her distinctive book covers, calligraphy, and expressive use of type, Istlerová helped shape the visual culture of postwar Czechoslovakia.
The book grew out of Minaříková’s close relationship and conversations with Istlerová. She will share the personal story, archival discoveries, and design process that brought the publication to life. The talk will be followed by a hands-on workshop where participants will play with letterforms and composition to create their own typographic postcards.
