About this Event
Join us at ZSL for the 2026 London Freshwater Citizen Science Forum!
This annual event brings together citizen scientists, conservation organisations and freshwater professionals from across London to celebrate another year of volunteering and freshwater monitoring. Whether you've been surveying rivers, monitoring wildlife, collecting water-quality data or contributing to another freshwater citizen science project, this is an opportunity to see what your efforts have achieved and how the data you've collected is being put into action.
During the forum, you'll have the chance to:
- Hear how citizen science is helping to improve London's rivers, wetlands and ponds
- Discover what has been achieved over the past year
- Meet other volunteers, conservation organisations and freshwater professionals
- Learn about upcoming projects and opportunities to get involved
- Share your experiences and ideas for the future of freshwater citizen science in London
This event is open to everyone who has contributed to freshwater citizen science in London!

ADD ON: Freshwater Futures: Youth Networking & Skills Session
(2pm-3pm)
Are you aged 18–25 and interested in nature, citizen science or conservation? Perhaps you’re considering a career in the environmental sector, or simply looking for new ways to get involved and build your skills.
Following the London Citizen Science Forum, join ZSL’s Freshwater Team for Freshwater Futures: Youth Networking & Skills Session.
You’ll have the opportunity to meet ZSL staff, early-career professionals and current interns; discover citizen science, volunteering and skills-building opportunities across London; and share your views on a new Training and Certification Pathway for 18–25-year-olds.
We also want to hear from you about how events like the London Citizen Science Forum could be made more useful, accessible and enjoyable for young people in the future.
It will be a relaxed opportunity to meet other young people with similar interests, make connections, explore different routes into conservation and help shape future opportunities for young people in citizen science.
Please note: You must be registered for the London Citizen Science Forum to attend this session and be between 18 - 25.
With many thanks to funders of ZSL's citizen science programme.
