About this Event
Why study the history of Christian missions? The saints of previous generations have much to teach us about Christian ministry, devotion to God and perseverance through suffering. Inspiring stories of heroism intertwine with solemn warnings and examples of both good and bad practice in cross-cultural evangelism. As we learn from the past and look to the future, we expect to grow in awareness of need and gain an appreciation of the magnitude of the task of world mission that provides fuel for our prayers.
On 24 November, Dr Chris Wigram will take us through the history of Christian Mission until 1910. The afternoon session will focus on the distinctive contribution of faith missions.
Dr Chris Wigram has been in cross-cultural ministry since 1979 and was the International Director of the European Christian Mission 2008-2020. Before this, he and his wife, Susanne, served for 19 years with OMF International, where Chris served as OMF International’s UK Director 1999-2008.
