About this Event
Welcome to The Signal Exchange Chicago!
Welcome to The Signal Exchange Chicago, a small-format professional gathering designed for people who want useful perspectives from outside their usual industry circles.
The room brings together a deliberately mixed group of professionals, founders, operators, researchers, consultants, creatives, and community leaders from different sectors.
Instead of sitting through a long panel, participants spend most of the event talking with one another.
The central question is simple:
What is changing in your industry that people outside it should be paying attention to?
How the Exchange Works
Participants rotate through a series of facilitated table conversations.
Each round examines one practical theme from several industry perspectives.
Exchange One - What Is Changing First?
Each participant shares one meaningful shift they are currently observing.
Examples might include:
- Changing customer expectations
- AI and automation
- Workforce behavior
- New operating models
- Trust and communication
- Supply-chain changes
- Sustainability expectations
- New forms of professional collaboration
The objective is not to predict the future.
The goal is to identify signals that may already be visible in one industry before becoming obvious in another.
Exchange Two - One Problem, Multiple Industries
Each table receives a practical business scenario.
Participants compare how different sectors would approach the same challenge.
Questions may include:
- How do you build trust when customers have more choices?
- How do small teams adopt new technology without creating more complexity?
- How do organizations respond when expectations change faster than internal systems?
- What makes people continue using a product, service, or community?
The facilitator keeps the discussion focused on practical approaches rather than abstract theory.
Exchange Three - Borrow This Idea
Participants identify one process, idea, habit, or operating principle from another industry that could be adapted to their own work.
Each guest completes a short Cross - Industry Transfer Card:
I observed:
One idea or pattern from another sector.
I could apply it to:
A real challenge in my own work.
My first test would be:
One realistic next step.
The Connection Exchange
The final portion of the event shifts from ideas to people.
Participants can identify conversations they want to continue after the session.
Contact details are exchanged only by mutual choice.
