About this Event
Now, I know what you’re thinking, Temple Bar? Isn’t that just for stags and hen parties? And hey, fair question. But stick with me, because we're going beyond the pints and postcards. This isn’t the touristy Temple Bar. It’s the one locals walk through with headphones on, thinking, “If these cobbles could talk…” Well, today, they do.
You’ll hear stories about:• The Palace Bar, where writers like Brendan Behan drank and misbehaved• The Rock and Roll Museum and its cheeky Wall of Fame, yes, U2’s on it, but so is Rory Gallagher• A pub that used to be a bank and still feels like you might need a loan to order a cocktail• A hidden garden just behind Dublin Castle that most people walk right past• The city’s old medieval wall and where it still peeks out today• The Thomas Davis fountain, complete with trumpeting bronze figures• And we’ll wrap up at the grand old Parliament building, with Trinity College right across from it, talk about history on both sides of the street
