Overview
Join Rory Lewis — portrait photographer to royalty, prime ministers and field marshals, with work held in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery, London — for an intensive one-day masterclass at his Farringdon studio.
This is a day of hands-on shooting and direct teaching. You will photograph three professional models while learning Rory's classical style of lighting — an approach rooted in Chiaroscuro and the painterly tradition of the Old Masters. Working through one, two and three-light setups, you will learn not only how each configuration is built, but why it works and when to use it.
Who this masterclass is for
The day is designed for beginner and intermediate photographers, and is equally suited to wedding and headshot photographers who want to bring depth, drama and classical refinement to their portrait work. All you need is a camera and a willingness to shoot.

- One, two and three-light setups, built from the ground up and shot in full
- Rory's classical approach to portrait lighting, drawn from Renaissance portraiture
- Directing and posing sitters for portfolio-ready portraits
