This latest run of shows at Nook features an emphasis on Coffee House style acoustic performances of songs- stripping songs to their core with the help of some etherial and ambient layers via loop machine, drum machines, vocal harmonizers and more. I am attempting to take part in a redefining of stripped down music as our tolerance for sophisticated production techniques grows. I appreciate a good song stripped down to its essential melody and chords-defining only its harmonic structure. However I often miss the emotional effect production techniques like backup vocals, hard vocal tuning, synth bass, atmospheric reverb and guitar layers add. This setlist will be specifically crafted for Nook's space and I look forward to exploring just how much is necessary to convey a song in 2024.
