Biographies
Penelope Salvetti first began her piano studies in Italy, her country of origin with pianist Luca Bernardini. She has recently graduated from Trinity Laban conservatoire with a Bachelor of Music degree, achieving First-Class Honours, and is now pursuing postgraduate studies under the guidance of Elena Riu and Sergio De Simone.
Penelope has had masterclasses and mentoring throughout her studies with pianists such as Pascal Rogé, Christine Croshaw, Hiroaki Takenouchi, Enrico Elisi, Maurizio Baglini and István I. Székely. She has been enjoying performing in venues including St Alfege, the Old Royal Naval Chapel and Waltham Abbey both as a soloist, and as part of chamber duo of piano and strings with violinist Sachin Patel, with whom she was awarded the Leonard Smith and Felicity Young Prize for string and piano duo in 2026.
She has been focussed on making classical music more accessible to a younger demographic by working as an intern for Alternative Classical, and enjoys working as a writer for the independent music magazine The Line of Best Fit in her free time.
Sachin Beaman-Patel is in the final year of his undergraduate degree at Trinity Laban, where he studies with Clare Thompson. He performs across a wide range of ensembles from symphony orchestras and string ensembles to musical theatre pits. He can also be found in the studio collaborating with various artists as a session musician. Recently, Sachin was awarded a grant from the Wolfson Foundation to support his purchase of suitable Violin.
Sachin has a strong passion for contemporary music and frequently collaborates with composers. He is a regular participant in new music festivals such as Rude Health and engages in a multitude of premieres and recordings. He also enjoys collaborating with dancers and choreographers to explore physical theatre and movement. This interdisciplinary work has led to performances at the Resolution Dance Festival and in the Bonnie Bird Theatre.
Sachin has participated in masterclasses with Tim Crawford, Jan Schmolk and Christine Croshaw. He has competed in multiple competitions during his studies and recently won the Leonard Smith & Felicity Young prize with his duo partner Penelope Salvetti. Alongside his studies he enjoys working in education and recently became an ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation.
Before moving to London, Sachin grew up in Manchester and began learning the violin on the Royal Northern College of Music’s young strings programme. He then became a part of the charity based ‘Pathfinder’ scheme at the RNCM who aim to break down barriers in classical music for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. He later began studying at the Junior RNCM under Catherine Yates where he immersed himself in multiple chamber and orchestral groups. He was also a member of the Hallé Youth Orchestra, performing frequently at the Bridgewater Hall and touring throughout Scotland and Germany.
