Belonging at UCL: Islamophobia Awareness Month Panel
What does it mean to truly belong at UCL?
As part of Islamophobia Awareness Month, join us for an open and thought-provoking panel exploring Muslim identity, belonging, inclusion and experiences within university spaces.
This event is open to everyone , Muslim and non-Muslim students, staff, and alumni. Whether you have personal experience of these issues or simply want to listen, learn and take part in the conversation, all are welcome.
Hear from a diverse panel of speakers, including:
Dr Mohamad El Daouk – Lecturer in Construction Law at UCL’s Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, whose work spans law, Islamic finance and sustainable governance.
Addeel Khan – UCL’s Director of Equity, Inclusion and Culture, leading work across the university to strengthen equity, inclusion and organisational culture.
Debbie Epstein – EDI Manager specialising in Religion & Belief at UCL, contributing to work that supports faith inclusion and informs UCL’s Faith Action Plan.
Together, our panellists will explore what belonging looks like in practice, how Islamophobia can affect students and staff, and what individuals and institutions can do to create a more inclusive university community.
Expect an open and engaging conversation, with opportunities for audience questions and discussion.
More speakers to be announced.
This event will be followed by an optional networking session and lunch.
