DIY Sound Objects with Gisou Golshani
Join artist Gisou Golshani for a drop-in DIY Sound Objects workshop. Using everyday materials like jars, bowls and grains, create your own experimental sound object and hear how it sounds through contact microphones and effects pedals, adding to a collaborative soundscape.
The session is inspired by Yalda Night, an ancient Iranian festival marking the winter solstice, the longest and darkest night of the year, which celebrates light over darkness through food, music and togetherness.
About the artist
Gisou Golshani is an Iranian artist working with sound, movement and voice. Her work explores mythology, ecology, healing and storytelling, and she has run participatory workshops in DIY sound objects and sampling with migrant communities and children. Instagram: @gisougolshani
