About this Event

These workshops are;

In person, sometimes online, but this is made clear in the title. Please pick a location convenient to you in Ealing Borough.

Free. However, they take up NHS staff time that could be used to help other children and families. If you cannot attend, please cancel your Eventbrite ticket 24–48 hours before the workshop.

For adults only (parents, carers, support staff), we have no childcare facilities. If this is a barrier to your attending please email [email protected]

Practical and interactive. We want you to leave with a goal to work on with your child, and strategies to achieve it.

Interpreters are available if you need help understanding the workshop in another language. Please contact the service at least one week before the workshop to arrange one. We recommend using an interpreter even if you speak some English, because we may use specialist words and ideas.

If you are more than 15 minutes late you may not be able to join the workshop.

Understanding Your Sensory Child

For all children, from toddlers to teenagers.

Everybody experiences the world through their eight senses. These senses help us respond and react to information from our environment and our bodies. Sometimes, how a child processes sensory information—like sounds, movements, or textures—can make everyday tasks, regulation and focus more difficult for them.

These two workshops explain:

  • The eight senses and how they develop in early childhood.
  • Different ways children receive and interpret sensory information from their bodies and the world around them.
  • What different sensory processing profiles are possible and what difficulties and strengths might accompany them.
  • What strategies and adjustments might help your child and make it easier for them to participate in their day to day lives.

Attend these workshops, if you want to reflect on how your child might be experiencing the sensory world, trial some sensory strategies and work towards making small changes to make sensory life easier for your child and family.

We do not offer Sensory Integration Therapy and we cannot take referrals for sensory needs alone.
