James the Seventh is a self-taught musician, singer-songwriter, and producer from the Philadelphia area. Formerly a full-time pre-professional ballet dancer, she sustained a career ending injury in 2020 that required surgery and a long recovery time, forcing her to give up her original dream. Unable to walk for a year, her father (a sixth in the line of James), bought her a guitar which led her to start writing and performing her own music. Since entering the music scene in 2021, her sound has expanded and evolved from dream pop to alternative rock, blending a distinct range of vocals and harmonies with introspective lyrics that explore themes of mental health, angst, and nostalgia.
