About this Event
It’s never too late to experience the joy of riding a bike!
Join Access Alliance for a beginner cycling program designed for adults aged 55+. Whether you’ve never learned to ride, haven’t been on a bike in years, or simply want to feel safer and more confident cycling, this small-group program will help you build your skills at a comfortable pace.
Led by experienced cycling instructors, each 1 hour session will combine hands-on practice with practical cycling knowledge. You’ll learn:
- How to ride, balance, steer, brake, and handle a bicycle safely
- How to properly fit and wear your helmet
- How to complete a simple pre-ride A-B-C safety check
- How to plan safe and comfortable cycling routes
- Tips for building confidence and continuing to ride after the program
- Where to find nearby trails, bike lanes, and other places to ride
Participants who are comfortable riding will also have opportunities to practice their skills and explore nearby cycling infrastructure as a group.
There is no cost to attend; however, we ask that all participants bring a helmet that fits them and to bring a bike if you have one. Reserve your spot today as spaces are limited!
This is a supportive, beginner-friendly environment where you can learn at your own pace, meet others, stay active, and discover the joy and independence that cycling can bring.
No previous cycling experience is required!
