The door to Ghana is open in a way it hasn't been in years. If you looked before and walked away, it's time to look again.
Become Export Ready is ACBN's hands-on export training at the Training Centre for Business Development. Day 2 is all about Ghana: a market of 35 million people, English-speaking, growing at 6% in 2025, and home to one of the strongest diaspora connections in our community.
Come at 12 PM and have lunch with us. Training runs from 1 PM to 3 PM.
Special guests
Chedwick Creightney who arranges Ghana tours!
Victor Beausoleil, joining us from Ghana, with an on-the-ground view of doing business there today.
Dr. Macaulay Kalu of the African Union, on the African Union's work with the diaspora and what it means for entrepreneurs ready to build trade with Africa.
What we'll cover
Why Ghana, why now. The new 2026 investment law, who's buying, and what AfCFTA really means for a Canadian business. (It's not what most people think.)
Selling into Ghana. FDA and GSA product rules, ECOWAS tariffs, the VAT stack, and how to build your real landed cost.
Setting up in Ghana. Getting your TIN, registering with the Registrar of Companies and GIPA, and what dual citizens need to know.
Getting paid and funding the deal. Managing the cedi, safer payment terms, free help from Canada's Trade Commissioner in Accra, EDC, CanExport and the ACBN capital pathway.
What you walk out with
Your export readiness score and gap plan
Market notes for Ghana
A step-by-step guide to setting up a business in Ghana
Introductions to trade advisors, our special guests and peers
A one-page Export Action Plan
Who this is for
This session is built for owners asking a growth question, not a survival question:
You sell a product. Food, beauty, apparel, packaged goods or manufacturing, and you want to reach buyers in Ghana.
You sell a service. Consulting, tech, creative or professional services, and you're ready to set up or serve clients in Ghana.
You have roots or networks in Ghana. Family, community or business ties you want to turn into trade.
You're past the idea stage. Registered, selling, and ready to ask where your next market is.
Missed Day 1? No problem. Day 2 stands on its own.
Still pre-revenue? Start with our free Thursday Entrepreneur Drop-In first. We get you to Clarity before we get you to customs.
