What does love require of us when we talk about loving our community?
This in-person Defining Love Community Salon explores Black love as something we practice through care, responsibility, accountability, and collective action.
Guests will gather at Urban Garden Brewhouse for a screening of the Defining Love: Voices of Black D.C. proof of concept, a reading from The Black Love Book, guest conversation, and an opportunity to reflect together on what loving our communities asks of us.
Come early, get settled, purchase food or drinks from the venue if you’d like, meet someone new, and join us for an evening rooted in film and conversation.

Defining Love: Voices of Black D.C. is a documentary-in-progress gathering Black Washingtonians’ reflections on love through the five tenets of Black Love Day: Creator, Self, Family, Community, and Black Diaspora.
