You are invited to take in an afternoon of ambient interstellar electroacoustic drift vibes. Cosmic Homeostasis is an artistic collective that gathers for the purpose of creating large-ensemble improvised drone-based music. Mixing performers with diverse musical backgrounds and experience levels, performances create space to develop improvisatory skills through listening while constructing unique sonic environments.
This special gathering is in celebration of our new "studio" album, which was also recorded at 918 Bathurst. Tapes and download codes will be available, and we will perform "a score in three movements", which we interpreted (twice!) on the album.
There will be two sets of music, starting shortly after 4:00, a video screening, and a special guest performance by Bea Labikova!
Snack zone will be in effect! Chairs provided, BYOB (bring your own blanket if you want to sprawl out/relax).
