About this Event
A Room for Black Men to Exhale
An intimate conversation about mental health, survival, brotherhood, and the tools that help Black men keep going.
Affirmations for Black Men and Black Men Heal are coming together once again to create a space where Black men can simply exhale.
In recognition of Suicide Prevention Month, this edition of Inside the Healing Room will bring together Black men with lived experience, Black male researchers, mental health professionals, WURD Radio, and community voices for an honest conversation about what it takes to make it through life’s hardest moments.
But this is not a conversation centered on death.
It is a conversation centered on living.
What helps a Black man keep going when life becomes overwhelming? What does meaningful support actually look like? How can we recognize when someone we love is struggling? And how do we build stronger communities where Black men feel safe enough to speak before they reach a breaking point?
Guests will have the opportunity to listen, learn, ask questions, connect with others, and leave with practical tools and resources they can use for themselves or to support the Black men in their lives.
Whether you are a Black man looking for community, someone who loves a Black man, a mental health professional, mentor, advocate, parent, partner, or community member, there is space for you in this conversation.
You do not have to be in crisis to belong in this room.
Come to listen.
Come to connect.
Come to learn how we can help more Black men stay.
