About this Event

The Perlmutter Center for Legal Justice is hosting a private screening of Sixteen Years, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.

The event will feature Jia Rizvi’s documentary Sixteen Years, which features Jeffrey Deskovic’s decades-long journey after being wrongfully convicted and imprisoned as a teen for a crime he did not commit.
Following the screening, Jia Rizvi, Jeffrey Deskovic, and Nelson Cruz, a Perlmutter Center client actively fighting for his exoneration, will come together for a Q&A with Deputy Director, Derrick Hamilton, to discuss wrongful convictions, the power of storytelling, and the ongoing fight for justice.
