Join us for an interactive workshop on zines as a form of creative self-expression and a tool for community organizing and mobilization.About this Event
Join City Bureau and Chicago Documenter/Civic Reporting Fellow, Sol Sanchez, for a fun evening focused on all things zines! We’ll share the history and origins of zines, discuss their importance as a radical information sharing tool in this cultural and political context, and end with a tutorial with hands-on time to make our own zines! Participants are encouraged to bring zines to share and trade at our “Pop-up zine library.”
Basic zine making supplies such as paper, scissors, glue sticks, markers, etc. will be provided but feel free to bring anything special you’d like to add to your zine.
Light snacks, refreshments, and good vibes will be provided.
