What makes the blues… the blues? 🎶
Wind Gap Music is beyond excited to present this clinic, this is exactly the kind of thing we’ve wanted to bring to our community.
Join us Saturday, October 10 for What’s Real, What’s Not: The Blues, a two-hour exploration of the history, sound, authenticity, and evolution of one of America’s most influential musical traditions.
We’ll begin with Antonio Underwood, Fulbright Lecturer, composer, musician, and educator for a multimedia presentation digging into the African American roots of the blues, the techniques and traditions that define it, and the question at the heart of this clinic: what’s real, and what’s not?
And then we’re getting out of the lecture and into the music.
Antonio will be joined by Bassell Franks on trumpet and
Nathan Biedzyski on drums as Tone Pulse for a live performance bringing everything to life.
This isn't just for blues musicians. Guitarists, brass players, bassists, pianists, vocalists, music students, teachers, blues fans, curious humans, you’re invited.
You don't need to play an instrument to come learn, listen, ask questions, and experience the music.
And we really want young musicians in the room. ❤️
