About this Event
We Love and Then We Drown asks urgent questions about how we continue to live – and love – in a time of crisis. Through intertwined vignettes, the play explores themes of motherhood, empirical fact versus innate love, the fundamental resilience of memory and, ultimately, hope.
This play was first presented in workshop performances at City Lit in January 2026, then had 6 performances in the Camden Fringe in August before transferring to Edinburgh Fringe for a two-week run at the Lime Studio. We Love and Then We Drown returns to its original home at City Lit as part of Bloomsbury Festival 2026.
Content warnings: this play includes some adult scenes and language, and loud music and sounds effects at times.
