For the first time, celebrated chef José Pizarro and renowned glass artist Peter Layton have come together to create a unique glass platter inspired by José’s restaurant, Lolo. Named after the restaurant, the platter marks the beginning of an exciting new collaboration between two creative worlds.
The official launch of Lolo takes place on 12 October, but this special evening offers an exclusive first look at the collaboration, beginning with a live glassblowing demonstration at London Glassblowing. Glass artist Layne Rowe will create the platter in the hotshop, before Peter Layton and José Pizarro join forces for a spectacular demonstration of cooking directly on hot glass. Using ingredients and a recipe inspired by José’s restaurant, the teams will show how molten glass can become an unexpected cooking surface - bringing the worlds of glass and food together in a truly unique way.
Following the demonstration, continue the evening with a special set-menu dinner at José Pizarro's restaurant Lolo, celebrating the collaboration from furnace to table. Guests will have the opportunity to experience Lolo before its official launch - and the chance to acquire a piece of Bermondsey history.
