Urban Village Run Club brought to you by NLRCFirst Tuesday of fall. We made it.
Summer made us earn every run this year. The first Tuesday in September hit 87 with the humidity to match, and the Thursday after that was ninety and sticky. October is the payoff: the best running month in Philly, an easy out and back, and Urban Village waiting at the finish, same as it has been since our very first run in 2021.
New to First Tuesday? Here's how it works. We run out to a turnaround point and come back the same way, so the run starts and ends right at Urban Village's front door. Total distance is double the way out, nobody gets lost, and nobody has to figure out how to get home from across the city.
Urban Village has been our home base from day one, and they extend Happy Hour for the club after every First Tuesday run. The kitchen is open until 10, and the fall lineup is already here: Pumpkin Cheesecake is back, and there's a pumpkin beer on the way.
MEETUP DETAILS Tuesday, October 6th 6:30 PM start Meet under the old water tower in the Piazza, next to Urban Village Brewing Company Out and back, finishing right back at Urban Village, 1001 N 2nd St.
WEATHER PERMITTING All of our runs happen weather permitting. We are fine with rain, but if there's lightning or the sky is genuinely dangerous, we'll call the group start off. If that happens we'll do our best to post on Instagram and update the website before 6:30, so check there first. The hang is still on either way, so come meet us at the bar regardless.
Route Suggestions, but Run what you want:

3.06 Miles: https://www.strava.com/routes/3519546368804976254
5.39 Miles: https://www.strava.com/routes/3519544850116376966
Heads up: the sun is setting right around our 6:30 start now, so the longer routes finish in the dark. Wear something bright or bring a light, especially if you're taking on the 5.39.
Can't make a Tuesday? We run every Thursday at 6:30 from the water tower too.
Tag the friend who spent all summer saying they'd come out once it cooled down. October's here. Hit 'Going' and hold them to it.
