Your northern adventure will take you places far and near to get a better look and appreciation of the natural marvels all around us. From moose, birds, and bears, to forests, bogs, and bluffs, join us as we explore our way across Minnesota’s north country to learn, see, and experience Minnesota in a whole new way.
You’ll start your journey at the Minnesota Zoo with a behind-the-scenes visit to the Zoo’s moose habitat. We’ll then make our way north for a 3-day adventure, heading to Duluth and Ely with some amazing stops along the way. You will gain a new appreciation and love for numerous iconic Minnesota species, including the black bear. Ely was cited by National Geographic as one of “America’s Best Adventure Towns.” Come find out for yourself! The EdVenture will then head south to Duluth for more iconic dining and wildlife stops that focus on Minnesota birds and aquatic learning opportunities.

Your EdVenture includes:
• Visiting the Minnesota Zoo’s moose and meeting their care staff.
• Participating in educational and entertaining programs at the North America Bear Center.
• Touring the inspiring exhibits at the North America Bear Center.
• Exploring and shopping in downtown Ely and Duluth during free time.
• Hiking to Dry Lake Falls.
• Exploring moose (and bear) habitat by foot and by car.
• Visiting and getting a behind-the-scenes tour of the Great Lakes Aquarium.
• Participating in an owl program and a songbird banding experience at Hawk Ridge.
• Going on a guided tour of the Bois Forte Heritage Center OR on a hike of the Sax-Zim bog, one of Minnesota’s most renowned birding areas.
• Enjoying your stay at the Grand Ely Lodge Resort and The Suites at Waterfront Plaza.

• Dining at the best restaurants in Ely and some of the most iconic restaurants in Northern Minnesota.

Solo Travelers
You will either be assigned a roommate, or you can add the single room supplement to your order on the Add-on options page during registration. If you prefer a roommate, we will add you to the roommate list, and when another solo traveler requests a roommate, we will let you know. However, if another solo traveler is unavailable, you may be charged the single room supplement.
