About this Event
Spend a fun Sunday morning creating, exploring, and laughing at these child and guardian art classes on a picnic blanket -- through September only! These S.T.E.A.M.-based classes are bursting with arts and crafts ideas that encourage kids to explore patterns, shapes, symmetry, and comparisons while trying out unique tools.
Each week, your little artist will dive into themed craft activities and a fun coloring sheet -- past favorites have included firetrucks, changing seasons, construction, and the life cycle of plants. You’ll start with simple coloring as everyone settles in, then move on to your first hands-on craft while discovering which S.T.E.A.M. principle it highlights. After a short, refreshing story time “brain break, ” you’ll complete a second exciting craft.
Crafts can get messy, so dress your child in comfy clothes -- we provide short-sleeved smocks for painting days. At the end, your budding creator will leave with two completed crafts and a themed coloring sheet, making these art classes for kids in Philadelphia the perfect way to spark creativity, connection, and fun.
Please Note:A responsible adult (18+) must stay with the child through the duration of this class. These crafts might get messy, so please dress your child appropriately. When planned lessons include paint, short-sleeved smocks will be provided. Please keep in mind that there are no bathrooms at Fitler Square Park.
