The Unseelie Court presentThe Battle of the Birds, a Darker Tale
Scottish International Storytelling Festival
Scottish Storytelling Centre
October 31st, 2026. 6-7pm
The Battle of the Birds, a Darker Tale is a complete re-imagining of this traditional folk story. This project is by The Unseelie Court, a collaboration between storyteller Owen Pilgrim and sound artist Gordon Cameron.
This re-telling is inspired by elements from esoteric Scottish folklore, alchemical imagery, and the folktale tradition of the Devil as trickster. The soundscape accompaniment is informed by studies of ritual practice in music across esoteric traditions, taking these occult elements and playfully incorporating them into contemporary music forms.
This performance has the nature of a dark, arcane ritual for Samhain
BSL Interpretation by Sarah Forrester.
