THE MASTERWORKS CHORALE visit to Malta.As part of the JP2 Memorial Festival 2026, the JP2 Cultural Foundation for the month of September will be hosting the British choir, Masterworks Chorale, a touring choir, based in Leeds. The choir was founded and directed by Tim Knight since its inception in 2009.
The choir draws its members from a wide area and has established a reputation for inspiring audiences with fresh and distinctive performances, with the mantra of producing the finest music in the finest venues.
The choir endeavours to present all its concerts in interesting venues accessible to all. The focus is always on our audience, and we are committed to bringing the enthusiasm, intentions and feelings of our chosen composers into the hearts of our listeners.
The ensemble has sung in cathedrals, churches and stately homes and in the hometowns of many master Composers across the UK and overseas, with tours including Venice, Paris, New York, Lichtenstein, Prague, Scotland, East Anglia, the Western Lakes, Warwickshire, Worcestershire. In 2024. The choir resumed its overseas tours to perform Erik Esenvalds' music in his hometown of Riga in Latvia, and the concerts were met with such enthusiasm and warmth, that the choir went back to the Baltics in 2025 to bring a range of European music to Lithuania, where the choir also met with great enthusiasm and appreciation.
The Masterworks Chorale will be visiting Malta this month performing in three localities.
• THURSDAY 24th SEPTEMBER 2026, the choir will be singing in the locality of SAN PAWL IL-BAĦAR at Our Lady of Sorrow Parish Church starting at 6.45pm.
• FRIDAY 25th SEPTEMBER 2026, the choir will be performing its second recital in the locality of SAN ĠILJAN at St. Julian’s Parish Church starting at 7.45pm.
• SATURDAY 26th SEPTEMBER 2026, the choir will have its third performance in the locality of VALLETTA at Our Lady of Porto Salve and St. Dominic Basilica. Before the recital the choir will also be animating the 6.15pm Mass.
The public is invited to attend and entrance for this event is free.
