About this Event
Two iconic bands with a Canadian connection, the Lovin' Spoonful and the Mamas & the Papas created some of the most enduring music of the 1960s. Dr. Mike Daley Presents: The Lovin' Spoonful and The Mamas & the Papas Story is a concert and talk celebrating their lives and music, featuring renowned music historian Dr. Mike Daley on guitar and vocals, Selena Evangeline on vocals and guitar, Adam Warner on drums and vocals, Suba Sankaran on percussion and vocals, Mike Ferfolia on bass and vocals, and Jill Daley on piano and violin.
With hits like "Do You Believe in Magic?", "Daydream" and "Summer in the City" the Lovin' Spoonful was a talented group fronted by John Sebastian and Canadian guitarist Zal Yanofsky. The Mamas & the Papas, featuring Canadian Denny Doherty, racked up a slate of hit singles including "California Dreamin'", "Monday, Monday" and "Dedicated to the One I Love". The latest in a monthly series that has included sold-out lecture-concerts on the Beatles, Billy Joel, Gordon Lightfoot, Tina Turner and the Beach Boys, Dr. Mike Daley Presents: The Lovin' Spoonful and The Mamas & the Papas Story is a must-see for any music fan.
