The Halo Community Social 2026

This year we're celebrating 25 years since Halo was introduced to the world. When Halo: Combat Evolved launched with the original Xbox, it changed gaming forever. It wasn't just a game but the gaming culture it was fostered in. This December, we're bringing back the early 2000s LAN party experience highlighted by split-screen, system link, good music and food, and the simpler times before social media.

The Halo Community Social is a grassroots, fan-run event taking place on December 10, 2026; 6:30 PM at Surf Incubator in downtown Seattle, WA, the night before Halo Fest 2026 built to celebrate Halo as a franchise and the gaming era that bore it. It's a party built by fans across all interests, for all fans regardless of when you first saw Halo.

🎮 LAN Party — 28+ Stations: Three generations of Xbox, all running Halo. Play what you want with whoever you want:

• 12+ MCC PvP stations (Xbox One / Series X): Halo: MCC, Halo Infinite
• 8+ Legacy stations (Xbox 360): Halo CE, 2, 3, ODST, Reach
• 6+ OG Xbox stations running Halo CE and Halo 2 on original hardware, community-lent
• 2 MCC Campaign co-op stations (Xbox Series X)

Controllers provided at every station, feel free to bring your own.

🏆 4v4 Tournament — $1,000+ Prize Pool: 8 teams, 4v4, Halo: Combat Evolved tournament on Xbox Series X using The Master Chief Collection. Double Elimination, best of 3. Tournament registration is open to all ticket holders, and it will be live streamed and casted.

🏆 FFA Tournament — $400+ Prize Pool: 32-player FFA, Halo: Combat Evolved tournament on Xbox Series X using The Master Chief Collection

🎬 Community Theater: A dedicated room screening community machinima, fan films, animations, montages, ViDocs, and more.

🕹️ Community Arcade: Four fan-made game and mod demo stations. Meet the developers behind them and give them feedback on their projects.

🎁 Halo-themed Giveaways: Giveaways throughout the night with the best items at 9PM. Every ticket holder has access to giveaways.

🍕 Food & Drinks: Mod Pizza (Cheese, Pepperoni, Supreme) and Dick's Burgers (Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, Fries) served on-site. Non-alcoholic beverages included with every ticket; bar service available for attendees 21+. Every ticket holder receives two meal vouchers (three if we hit the $21k stretch goal). Vegan and vegetarian options available.

🎲 Tabletop: (Unlocks at $17,000) Flashpoint, Halo Monopoly, and other Halo-themed tabletop games.

The Era: 2001–2004, Original Xbox, Halo CE laying the foundation and everyone clamoring to play Halo 2 with their buddies split-screen or over system link. Nerdy posters, gaming magazines, lava lamps, and decorations that make you feel like you stepped back into that golden moment.

The Sound: Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park, Evanescence filling the void between matches. The music you heard on the radio and blasted in your dorm rooms and basements.

The Dress Code: Cargo shorts, baggy jeans, vintage gaming shirts! Era-accurate is always appreciated and cosplay is absolutely welcome.

The Goal: A break from online drama and social media. A reminder of when Halo felt new and exciting. Old fans get their nostalgia, new fans experience a slice of gaming history and everyone leaving with a story.

Surf Incubator — 7th Floor 999 3rd Ave, Suite 700, Seattle, WA 98104

Located in downtown Seattle within walking distance of the Seattle Convention Center (Halo Fest) and Benaroya Hall (Halo Fest concert). Fully accessible with elevator access. Street parking and several garages nearby along with nearby public transit stops.

This isn't just a party, it's proof that the Halo community still shows up together 25 years in for the franchise we adore.

The Halo Community Social is not affiliated with Halo Studios, Xbox or Microsoft. This party is community-funded and community-run only happening if we make it happen together.
