Join us for a talk and live demonstration by Brussels-based artist Adrien Lucca, whose work draws on histories and methods of art & science.
About this Event

Brussels-based artist Adrien Lucca works at the intersection of art, science, and architecture, using light and colour to investigate the mechanics of perception.

Working across scales and media—from permanent public artworks and architectural interventions to experimental performances, installations, and painting—Lucca examines how light constructs our experience of colour and the environment. His presentation will include a live demonstration of specialized lamps that alter our perception of colour, alongside recent research reconstructing the visual perception of insect species affected by urban light pollution.

Lucca’s work offers a compelling perspective on how artificial light shapes both human and non-human environments.

Artist Bio:

Adrien Lucca is a Brussels-based artist whose work explores colour, light, and perception through painting, glass, installation, and experimental light sources. Drawing on the histories and methods of art and science, he creates experiments that challenge how colour is defined and perceived. His work has been exhibited at BPS22, IKOB, La Centrale, and the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences. Lucca has also realized major permanent public commissions in Montreal (CA), Rotterdam (NL), Rome (IT), Toulouse (FR), Liège (BE), Tournai (BE), Rouen (FR), and Lisbon Architecture Triennial 2025 (PT).
