About this Event
The Blackhurst Project: A Monthly Series
Blackhurst Cultural Centre invites you to the inaugural event of The Blackhurst Project, a new series creating space for conversation, scholarship, art and Black thought across the diaspora.
For our first gathering, Jonathan Howard joins I. Augustus Durham for a conversation centred on Howard’s book, Inhabitants of the Deep: The Blueness of Blackness.
Howard’s work moves across Black literature, culture and history, exploring the relationship between blueness and Blackness through a wide range of cultural and literary subjects.
The Blackhurst Project is envisioned as an ongoing space to come together, think together and engage together, bringing scholarship into conversation with art, film, music and the cultural questions shaping our present moment.
Join us as we launch the series and welcome Jonathan Howard to Toronto for an evening of thoughtful conversation and community.
