Teaching Freedom Public Exhibit Celebration

Explore how Black teachers built a 200-year legacy of liberatory education in Philadelphia through historical artifacts. Help pass their freedom dreams on to future generations.

The Teaching Freedom public exhibit was organized by the Free Library Exhibitions and the Philadelphia Dreamkeepers Project, a collaboration of the Center for Black Educator Development, Dr. Camika Royal, Dr. Linn Posey-Maddox, writer Benjamin Herold, Mighty Engine and a team of researchers, guest curators and community advisors.
