On Tuesday, September 29 from 6:00-7:30pm, Ulises will host a talk—and a chance to talk with—Manuel Raeder, the Berlin- and Mexico City-based furniture maker, publisher and multidisciplinary designer. One part lecture, one part conversation, audience members are encouraged to bring a question to ask Manuel. Students from all walks of life are especially encouraged to attend.
Studio Manuel Raeder is concerned with the construction of narratives — in the form of books, exhibition design, and communication design. Books can function as carriers of information or as experimental devices to document and conceive narratives. In a similar manner, exhibition design can trigger different sensorial experiences, guiding visitors through a spatial narrative. The studio is interested in the meaning of books and storytelling within space, the archive, and the future of libraries, as well as their role in the context of display, architecture, and product design.
In 2011, Manuel Raeder founded the publishing house BOM DIA BOA TARDE BOA NOITE to distribute and publish artists with a strong interest in exploring the format of the artist’s book.

This program concludes a 2026 partnership with the Goethe Institut-NY, which began with Ulises’s SMLXL Classroom at the New York Art Book Fair.
