About this Event
Lots of older people need help with money problems and help with care at the same time, and these can be offered together in one place, like a community centre, food pantry or community hub. These are sometimes called ‘co-located services.’
This workshop brings older people, carers, policymakers, practitioners and others together to share experiences of co-located support. We will map the ripples these places create, which are the knock-on effects that spread out into people's lives and communities.
You will join a room of mixed tables of around seven or eight people at each table, to take part in a shared activity, and hear a short fireside chat from people involved in services that offer help with money and adult social care support together. No special knowledge is needed to take part - but we welcome people with experience or interest in 'co-located services'.
Together, we will spend the day exploring how co-located support helps people, where it makes a difference, and what can help improve these services.
The workshop will give people from different backgrounds a chance to share ideas, meet others, and raise awareness of how support in one place can help older people.
This workshop is part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2026, taking place from 17 October to 7 November with similar events across the UK.
