🌱 THE SOIL FOOD WEB: THE HIDDEN LIFE BENEATH OUR FEET 🌱✨ A journey into the living world beneath our feet ✨
The earth beneath us is far more than dirt. It is a living, interconnected community of microorganisms, fungi, bacteria, protozoa, nematodes, and countless other organisms working together to sustain plant life and the natural world.
🌿 Join us at the Dunedin Spiritualist Church for an introduction to the fascinating world of the Soil Food Web — exploring the connection between soil health, plant vitality, nature, and our responsibility to care for the Earth.
Together, we will explore:
🌱 The Living Soil — Discover what makes soil a living ecosystem rather than simply a growing medium.
🍄 The Underground Network — Learn about beneficial fungi, bacteria, and the relationships they form with plant roots.
♻️ Nature’s Recycling System — Understand how organic matter is broken down and nutrients are returned to the soil.
🌾 Regeneration and Balance — Discover how we can work alongside nature to rebuild soil, improve plant health, and support thriving ecosystems.
🌍 Spirituality and Stewardship — Reflect on our relationship with creation and how a deeper understanding of nature can inspire us to care for the Earth.
This will be an accessible, engaging introduction to the science of living soil, suitable for anyone curious about nature, gardening, agriculture, sustainability, or the deeper connections within the natural world.
You don’t need any previous knowledge — just an open mind and a curiosity about the wonderful world beneath our feet!
