Levels
Beginner
Already dancing Salsa but just starting your journey with Cuban Son? Then this level is a wonderful place to begin.
You’ll be introduced to the essential foundations of Son and get familiar with the special feeling of dancing contratiempo. We’ll work on timing, partner connection, and the basic principles that make Son so unique. Along the way, you’ll discover the elegance, musicality, and character that make Son such an important part of Cuban social dancing.
Intermediate
You’re already familiar with the fundamentals of Son and would like to feel more relaxed, natural, and confident when dancing socially.
At this level, we’ll build further on your timing, posture, and quality of movement while developing a clearer and more comfortable lead-and-follow connection. You’ll also add new figures, combinations, and ideas to your Son repertoire, giving you more freedom and variety on the dance floor.
Advanced
You’re already confident dancing contratiempo and feel ready to take your Son to a more refined level.
This level focuses on greater precision, quality, and expression. We’ll dive deeper into technique, body movement, musical interpretation, and more challenging partner work. The goal is to help you create a smoother, more elegant and expressive dance while giving you more freedom to play with the music and your partner.
