About this Event
Join us for an immersive, hands-on workshop dedicated to the art of Tatreez—the traditional Palestinian embroidery that has served as a powerful medium for storytelling, identity, and resistance for generations.
In this workshop master embroiderer, Johara Shamaa, will guide you through the art form’s history, its cultural significance for Palestinians in the region and abroad, and of course a demonstration on how to create your very own piece. Together we’ll learn about different motifs and dresses from various Palestinian cities, understanding how each region’s style is unique and represents its local heritage. By the end of the evening each participant will have the chance to practice Tatreez cross-stitching and create their own piece of art!
Enjoy light bites and refreshments for an intimate evening of connection and creativity! So whether you are picking up the practice for the first time or looking to connect deeper with traditional patterns, this space is open to all skill levels!
