Since January, I’ve been traveling throughout Philadelphia, speaking with older generations of my family, as well as people across the city, about their experiences growing up and being Black in Philadelphia.Through these conversations, I’ve had the opportunity to learn more about who they are—not only by listening to their stories, but by digging through old photographs, keepsakes, and memories that helped shape the people they’ve become today.
On October 17th, I’m opening the **SIXTEEN NINETEEN ARCHIVE** to the public.
You’ll be able to listen to their stories on cassette, engage with their photographs and personal archives, and watch them share their experiences in their own words.
I’m bringing this work to life alongside my friends, and in partnership with **Collective Climb**, located at **350 S 15th St, Philadelphia, PA 19102**.
