The Schools History Project and the British Library invite you to join us for an inspiring afternoon of free CPD focusing on using an emotional lens to teach history in schools.

  • Workshop exploring source materials related to the Holocaust, Partition of India and the Norman conquest through an emotional lens
  • Oral testimonies from the British Library collections
  • Micro-keynotes from Professor Julie Gottlieb on the disciplinary aspects of emotions history, and Dr Andy Pearce discussing a case study on teaching the Holocaust through an emotional lens
  • Roundtable panel with practitioners Nick Mackintosh (primary), Sarah Davis (Secondary) and Kiran Mahil (Secondary) sharing their experiences of teaching histories through emotion.
