SHEAL (aka Sheilagh McNab) is an East Coast-raised, Toronto-based singer-songwriter known for her piano-driven compositions, intimate arrangements, and emotionally honest songwriting. Her music explores memory, nostalgia, home, and the complicated process of returning - not just to a place, but to an emotional plane. Originally from Nova Scotia, SHEAL draws on what she calls “nostalgia triggers” - old places, friendships, and memories - to explore what happens when we revisit the past with the perspective that come with age.
Her songs explore nostalgia, love, grief, and hope, often arriving at a simple invitation: to trust in small openings in our lives, let go, and watch something grow. Her latest EP, home-going, continues this exploration of returning, reconnecting, and finding new ways forward. Across the record, SHEAL considers the geographical and emotional distance between where we come from and where we are now, and explores how going back can inform how we move forward.
