16+ | All materials are provided. Participants are welcome to bring any plain t-shirts, bags, or fabric from home to print on. | No experience required
Carve & Create is part of the Art Gallery of Guelph’s Sunshine Studio Series, a welcoming, creative, and social space where community members 16+ are invited to gather, connect, and explore their creativity through a series of guided beginner-friendly activities.
Designed for students, emerging professionals, and anyone looking to connect with others while exploring new artmaking techniques and materials. Each workshop offers an opportunity to learn something new and enjoy an evening of creativity and conversation!
This workshop is facilitated by Leah Orellana-Banning (she/they), the Exhibitions & Programs Associate at the Art Gallery of Guelph. In this position, she develops and delivers accessible educational programming and interpretive tools that connect diverse audiences to contemporary art and ideas. As the founder of the Sunshine Studio Series, she continues to explore how tactile, skill-based learning can be integrated into the public realm, creating space for meaningful dialogue between the institution and the diverse audiences it serves. Leah holds a BA in Art History with minors in Museum Studies and Arts Management from the University of Guelph.
