About this Event
Somewhere inside all of us lives a people pleaser, a perfectionist, an overthinker and a catastrophizer. And probably the part of you that still wakes up at 2 a.m., remembering something embarrassing you did in 1998.
With scissors, glue sticks and magazine images, we'll use collage to bring these usually hidden parts of ourselves into the light.
We won't analyze them, fix them or try to show them the door. Instead, we'll notice them, name them and get curious about them. We might even discover that the parts of ourselves we've tried hardest to hide deserve a little more affection.
Because it's surprisingly hard to take your inner perfectionist quite so seriously once you realize she's just Carol, Director of Impossible Standards, with her clipboard and sensible shoes.
The goal isn't to become without shame. It's to make room for all of ourselves, including the awkward, imperfect, occasionally mortifying parts and discover that we can meet them with humor, kindness and even a little love.
You'll leave with a few new friends, a lighter heart and a kinder relationship with yourself.
All supplies, plus water and snacks provided. Feel free to bring a sack lunch.
