About this Event
Are your self-tapes doing you justice? Not sure where to start? What do you do if you don’t have a reader?
Following lots or requests, we now have the workshop for you!
Rembember: Your performance is the most important thing — but good framing, lighting and sound can make sure that performance is seen and heard at its best.
Join actor, producer and swashbuckler Henry Austwick for a practical 2-hour workshop covering everything from no-cost self-tape solutions to how to get the best from what you have all the way upto using professional equipment.
What we will cover:
📷Camera & framing — getting the basics right.
💡 Lighting — from no-cost solutions to more advanced options.
🎙️ Sound — simple ways to improve your audio.
📱 Equipment — what you actually need (and what you don't!).
🏠 Making the most of your space — even if you don't have a dedicated setup.
✨ Practical tips & tricks to make your tapes look more professional.
🛠️ Hands-on equipment — try different setups for yourself before spending money.
You’ll also get hands-on with different equipment, so you can try things before spending your money.
No scene to learn. No sides to prepare. No technical experience needed.
Why is it important to learn about Self Tapes?
There are positives and negatives to self tapes (something we will discuss in the workshop), but they are here to stay. Understanding how to get the most out of them will help you be able to focus on the performance rather than the technical elements.
Who is running the workshop?
The workshop is lead by Henry Austwick, actor, producer, swashbuckler and educator. With many years experience of self tapes and film making he will be sharing his knowledge and lifting the lens cap on the bread and butter of self tape auditions.
Just £18* per person.
Talking place in Penryn at Jubilee Warehouse
*+ booking fee.
If you self-tape for auditions (or want to) this could be two hours very well spent!
