Drum! Dance! Chant! This free annual and public event was born in 1997 after participants outgrew my back yard. It has been held on or near Samhain every year since then on the Halifax Main Common (near the Willow Tree intersection). This is year 30!
At Samhain we celebrate the harvest while looking death in the face. Now is the season to commemorate our dead and reflect on our own mortality. All that falls shall rise again and Samhain is also a beginning. A fresh page.
The event is designed to be inclusive and provides an open door into modern paganism for the curious newcomer.
The event is also designed to strengthen the local Pagan community. Drumming , dancing and chanting together in ritual makes for a stronger, more inclusive community.
If you are curious about paganism I personally invite you on behalf of our community.
If you are a regular participant I look forward to celebrating Samhain with you again.
If you are a local Pagan but have not attended, I encourage you to come out of the broom closet and help. Reconnect with old friends! Make new ones!
The Samhain Sabbat Ritual will take approximately 2 hours. As always, the event relies heavily on your participation. Be not shy. Fear not. We shall hold your hand.
