About this Event
We all know that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. However, with limited time and resources, and increasingly complex risks facing young people it can be difficult to stay confident about what to do, where to go for support, and what our responsibilities are in a constantly changing landscape.
This short conference has been designed in direct response to the questions and needs raised through the LYTP safeguarding survey that many of you completed.
Delivered in partnership with Islington’s Children’s Safeguarding Partnership, Islington Council, the VCFS sector, and QLIP, the session will cover:
- How safeguarding young people has evolved in Islington
- Understanding contextual harm
- Your role — and the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead — in protecting young people
- How to access the full range of FREE safeguarding support, training, and resources
- What you need to strengthen your policies and procedures
- An opportunity to share your insights and help co-design an improved safeguarding offer for the sector
Who should attend:
- Organisations across the community, faith, arts, sports, education, and youth sectors working with children and young people
- Practitioners, managers, and Designated Safeguarding Leads (and deputies)
- Anyone working with or for young people
- Statutory services working with or supporting youth organisations
A free lunch will be available at 2:00pm, with the event starting at 2:15pm.
A hybrid option will be available for those unable to attend in person.
Please try to make time to attend. Safeguarding young people remains our number one priority — however complex or nuanced the situation.
Funded by the Local Youth Transformation Pathfinder.
