Scottish fiddle player Ryan Young returns to Edinburgh for a special performance at the Traverse, joined by guitarist Louis Campbell (Sam Lee, Sam Sweeney).Known for his distinctive tone and deeply expressive approach to traditional music, Ryan brings new life to old and often forgotten Scottish tunes, placing melody and emotion at the heart of his playing.
The evening will feature tunes from Ryan’s new album, produced by and featuring acclaimed Irish fiddler Martin Hayes, alongside traditional repertoire and music from Ryan’s previous releases. In the intimate duo setting, Ryan and Louis explore the music with space, detail and spontaneity.
A multi-award-winning artist, Ryan was most recently nominated for Musician of the Year at the 2025 MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards and has toured extensively across the UK, Europe, North America and Australia.
